Start working on it as soon as its discharged! Dont wait!!! Open some accounts but dont go crazy with them! You will pay higher intr. rates but thats the only way to start rebuilding..

Good Luck!!

I have a friend and a family member both file bankruptcy. The friend filed in 2001 and bought their first home in 2004. It takes several years to improve your credit score. Here is a hint. Dont have your credit ran to try to obtain credit for credit cards due to everytime that your credit is ran there is a black mark put on your credit report. Keep your payments current and try to pay off any of your loans sooner. This improves your credit score even faster. Get a copy of your credit report a few months after your discharge. Check it to make sure everything was removed. From personal experience with a family member there were several things on their credit report months after discharge so check it and check it often. Good Luck! GOOD Credit is around the corner. Another hint..THROW the credit card offers AWAY!

You have to start building new good credit. You need to open a couple of new accounts, charge cards or any account that will report to the credit bureaus. Only charge them up to about half of the credit limit, pay your monthly payments on time or early. If you do this, then after a few months, your score will start going back up. As far as your late car payments, they did hurt your credit, but there%26#039;s nothing you can do about that now. Just make sure hat you pay everything on time each month and your credit will start improving pretty quickly.

As far as checking your credit, I would check it about 30 days after your bankruptcy has been discharged. When you pull your own credit,it doesn%26#039;t effect your scores. You can go to AnnualCreditReport.com and check it for free.

it will take a while to get your credit rating back up.

in the meantime, if you are lucky enough to get a new credit card, do NOT make any late payments. If you try and apply for any loan in the future...a creditor will see a bankruptcy AND late payments...and they will say to themselves...%26quot;this person have proven they cannot be trusted with money....sorr, no loan for you%26quot;
