What kind of credit score do you need to qualify for a VA. loan?

So far, no one has answered your question and just solicited you for loans other than a VA loan. VA does not have credit score standards per se, but the do have credit worthiness qualifications. Yes, they usually do want to see a score over 600.

In general, you should not have any late payments to any credit accounts over the last 12 months, a good verifiable rental history, no bankruptcy reported in 24 months and no unpaid collection accounts. My recommendation would be to visit a local mortgage broker or banker (get a referral from a family member or close friend) and ask them to review your credit with you. If you have any of the above mentioned wait the required amount of time. If you have any collection accounts pay them right away and then you will need to wait approx. 12 month. The lender you talk to can run your credit through their automated underwriting and find out if you qualify now. Sometimes, some of the above rules do not apply (except the bankruptcy rule) if they are isolated incidences. It doesn%26#039;t hurt and shouldn%26#039;t cost you anything to inquire.
