I saw on a talk show that someone had their identity stolen, and of course their credit was destroyed. That isn%26#039;t my case, but last year, my employer discriminated against and terminated me (from a desk job - not hard labor) all because I had a stiff back for one day. My doctor said I was okay to work, but the employer still took the job away, and even told me that they were happy with my job performance, so it had nothing to do with that. Since then, I have been looking for a new job, and have not been able to find one. All my money (which wasn%26#039;t much to begin with) is drained and I have to file bankruptcy. I know that typically, a person has to go through up to 10 years to restore their credit, but I didn%26#039;t bring this on myself, and had excellent credit before all of this happened. So, is there some way that I can have my credit score restored to what it was a year or so ago? I don%26#039;t see having the next 10 years of my life ruined because of some unethical employer.

You will not suffer 10 years of bad credit. In two years time you can achieve good credit scores and reasonable interest loans.
I know, I%26#039;ve got a mid 600 score just two years out of discharge.
It would be even better if I had worked even harder to clean up my reports.

You can sue the employer for terminating for no reason, but about the Credit Score, you cannot do anything, I am afraid.
But I don%26#039;t think it takes 10 years , I think it is less.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Your bankruptcy will haunt you for years, but your credit score can gradually improve in the meantime. Your recent credit history will help you build new positive references that will boost your score. As time goes by, the bankruptcy will have a lower impact on your score. Just focus on keeping any current or new accounts in good standing and your score will improve.
As far as your employer is concerned, some states allow an employer to terminate an employee without cause. My state (NC) is one such state.
