A bad credit score means you won't land a cash-handling position?

Is this true? I read in a book yesterday that there are hiring managers who base a candidate閳ユ獨 probability of getting a cash-handling job, such as cashier, by their credit score. The book stated that it is unlikely that someone would be placed in that position, with a drawer full of 20%26#039;s let say, who had a lot of bills. I couldn%26#039;t believe this when I read it. Is this true?

A bad credit score means you won%26#039;t land a cash-handling position?

Yep, many companies won%26#039;t hire someone with a bad credit score for any position that handles valuables. (Jewelry, cash, checks, whatever!)

A bad credit score means you won%26#039;t land a cash-handling position?

Yes it is true. Your credit score is based in part on how well you have paid the bills you have. If you have gone into arrears and messed up your credit, the reasoning is that embezzlement or stealing money is a greater temptation. If you HAVE paid your bills on time, you can have debt and still have an OK credit score. A lot of people have car notes and student loans. That is not a bad thing.

It may seem like discrimination, but if you have a bad credit rating you have already proven that you can%26#039;t handle your money. A business is not going to take a risk on losing theirs. So look for a job where cash-handling is not a part of the deal. There are lots.

Not where I am from if thats the case then some don%26#039;t need to be managers. For a general cashier position I think they just go by criminal background well at least they should who are they to say you are going to steal the money and how do they know u are not getting the job to clear up your credit.

A bad credit score means you won%26#039;t land a cash-handling position?

Yes it is true, for many reasons. Any type of job dealing with money or credit, you have to have good credit. And that%26#039;s not all. Just about everybody is checking credit now a days for any kind of job. I had one person call and ask me if I was going to pay all the bills on my bad credit report. I told her yes if you give me a job. She asked why had I not payed them. Well lets see, BECAUSE I NEED A JOB. She still said no that she could not hire me. They look at it as a character reference. To see if your honest and hard working. Now how they can tell all that from a credit report that they know nothing about, I%26#039;ll never know. They don%26#039;t know why you credit is bad and it should be none of their business.

A bad credit score means you won%26#039;t land a cash-handling position?

Of course it%26#039;s true. And if you have had a problem with drugs, they won%26#039;t hire you in a pharmacy either. An alcoholic probably shouldn%26#039;t be a bar tender...and the list goes on and on...

Bad credit is one of the worst problems to have... however there exists a solution.
