I bought a newer used car last week and financed about $5,000 of the cost of $15,000. The salesman said my credit score was over 800. Is that good? What does 800 mean?
Is a credit score of 800 good?
800 is a very good score.
FICO reports from 300 to 850.
I look at credit everyday and see scores over 800 very rarely.
Is a credit score of 800 good?
It means you pay your bills. I have a 800, and have never been late. I am not sure one gets higher then a perfect score.
Is a credit score of 800 good?
almost perfect
Is a credit score of 800 good?
yes
Is a credit score of 800 good?
It%26#039;s excellant. You can get a little higher, but not much. I hope you keep it that way. And you can use that high score as leverage for lower rates on loans too!
Is a credit score of 800 good?
Yes, I believe 850 is tops. Anything over 750 is excellent. Keep paying your bills, and watch to make sure no one compromises your credit.
Is a credit score of 800 good?
yes
Is a credit score of 800 good?
800 or higher puts you in the %26quot;less that 1% risk of default%26quot; range. Auto credit is scored on a scale of 300-850.
The lowest I have ever seen was a 340 and occassionally I see scores in the 830%26#039;s.
The lower the score, the higher the risk of default. 300%26#039;s are not financeable. Sometimes, people in the 400%26#039;s are financeable, but will almost always need money down and/or a co-signer. If someone in the 400%26#039;s and lower 500%26#039;s does get approved, they usually can not afford to be picky, as there are not as many lenders who will approve them, and there are always stipulations (such as %26quot;proof of income%26quot; and extra references.).
Most people in my region are in the 500%26#039;s and 600%26#039;s. I recently saw something on the web claiming that the average credit score in America is 678.
As a general rule, if you are over 700, there is no problem getting financed and if you are 760 or above, you are automatically approved at many lenders.
800 is excellent, but there is no such thing as a %26quot;perfect score%26quot; or %26quot;perfect credit%26quot;. I have seen credit will all accounts paid perfectly, but the score was only a 600. I have alos seen 200k worth of %26quot;charged off%26quot; credit and a score of 600.
How can this be so?
The score weighted and is comprised of many factors.
Since FICO is the score most people ar familiar with, I will use it as an example. The FICO score is weighed this way: 35% payment history, 30% amount owed, 15% length of credit history, 10% new credit, and 10% types of credit used.
The following information is NOT a factor for your FICO credit score:
%26quot;Your race, color, religion, national origin, sex and marital status.
US law prohibits credit scoring from considering these facts, as well as any receipt of public assistance, or the exercise of any consumer right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
Your age.
Other types of scores may consider your age, but FICO scores don%26#039;t.
Your salary, occupation, title, employer, date employed or employment history.
Lenders may consider this information, however, as may other types of scores.
Where you live.
Any interest rate being charged on a particular credit card or other account.
Any items reported as child/family support obligations or rental agreements.
Certain types of inquiries (requests for your credit report).
The score does not count 閳ユ竷onsumer-initiated閳?inquiries 閳?requests you have made for your credit report, in order to check it. It also does not count 閳ユ笡romotional inquiries閳?閳?requests made by lenders in order to make you a 閳ユ笡re-approved閳?credit offer 閳?or 閳ユ竵dministrative inquiries閳?閳?requests made by lenders to review your account with them. Requests that are marked as coming from employers are not counted either.
Any information not found in your credit report.
Any information that is not proven to be predictive of future credit performance.
Whether or not you are participating in a credit counseling of any kind.%26quot;
Is a credit score of 800 good?
800 is a great score.
You can and should get a free once yearly credit report from the 3 big ones(TransUnion, Experian, Equifax). These scores can vary between companies.
When applying for something like a mortgage they will probably take the middle score.
My wife%26#039;s credit card company said her score was in the 800%26#039;s however, the 3 companies that actually matter put her in the high 700s and that%26#039;s what really affects our mortgage rates, etc.
No matter how you slice it though your score is a good one :) congrats

Is a credit score of 800 good?
That is near perfect. How old are you did someone else help you build your credit for you?
Is a credit score of 800 good?
800 is well above the average of 692-700. Some say 850 is perfect, but you would need YEARS of good payment history to acheive that. With an 800 make sure that you get a great interest rate on any loan you get, or any credit card you have. You can negotiate terms with an 800. If someone had a 600 they can%26#039;t negotiate and have the same affect you would with your history.
Have you had at least 10 years of perfect payment history? Or was that 800 obtained through another means? Great job!
Is a credit score of 800 good?
I think you%26#039;re making this up.
First off, I%26#039;m not really sure who you%26#039;re trying to impress, but you%26#039;re probably one of those people who just likes to impress people you don%26#039;t know.
You have a credit score over 800 and you didn%26#039;t know? First off, no one should ever go to buy a car and not know what their credit score is. Knowing your credit score lets you know what sort of rates to expect.
Then, you bought a $15,000 car? What did you get? A Geo metro?
Is a credit score of 800 good?
Duh?
