Help me raise my credit score by 35 points!?

I will be applying for a mortgage in about 10 months. I want to get my credit score up by 35 points before I have to apply. Is this possible to do in this period of time? I only have one credit card presently, would you reccomend that I get another?

What is your balance compared to your limit? And how long have you had the card? You could have your limit increased by a Soft Pull (meaning not a %26#039;hard pull%26#039;) which doesnt result in an inquiry showing on your report. That will help for usage.

If you%26#039;ve had this card a while, and use it quite a bit, I%26#039;d suggest applying for another card as well. Maybe a Citibank card or something, most companies will at least match your highest limit.

One more thing you could do is have your name added as an %26quot;Authorized User%26quot; to a relative%26#039;s credit card (who has a good limit, low usage, and good payment history/card age). This will help your score as well.

Back to the first thing, your balance on statement date matters more than anything. If your limit is say only $1000 and your statement balance is $800, it doesnt matter if you pay it off every month. Your credit report is still showing you at 80% usage. One way to fight this is pay it off BEFORE teh statement date (send it 5-7days before so it posts before statement). THat will be the amount that gets reported to the bureaus.

This is the same reason I suggested an increase (as long as it doesnt result in a pull. BofA doesnt do hard pulls and will tell you if they do). Your debt to available credit will be lower.

I would get anothe cc hopefully with a fairly high limit and be very good about paying it and keep your balance low but make sure you use it, that shows the mortgage company that you are good about paying your bills, if you don%26#039;t use it then it won%26#039;t help you very much

Cut down on your credit card spending so you can pay off the bill. That will raise your score over time.

1. 10 months is plenty of time.

2. Use the CC you have and pay the balance at the end of each month.

3. Do not get anymore CC%26#039;s.

4. Take out a small ($3000.00) loan from your bank.

5. Do NOT spend the money.

6. Use the money from the loan to pay it back. You can do $600.00 a month.

7. In five months you have a paid loan on your credit report which improves your credit tremendously.

Pay more than minimum payment. Pay up 10 days prior to due date. Pay on time.

apply for another credit card but dont charge no more than 30% of your avaiable balance your fico score will go up and make sure to pay your balance on time your fico score will go up
